NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
EXHIBIT INFORMATION
2010
(Updated 08-13-09)
This page and the following information is provided as a service to those persons and organizations that wish to participate in National Night Out 2010 with a display, demonstration or activity. Should you have additional questions, please contact local Event Coordinator Tim Quigg at the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at 509-382-2518.
The local National Night Out event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Dayton City Park. The Second Street side of the park is blocked off beginning at 7:00 a.m. the day of the event. You may set up your display any time after 7:00 a.m., but you are responsible for keeping an eye on it. We are not responsible for any items left unattended!
Display locations are assigned. Please contact Tim Quigg on site the morning of the event, and he will direct you to your proper spot.
Your display must be up, fully functional and manned by 5:00 p.m. Please do not start signing up for drawings or handing out materials to the public until 5:00 p.m. Please advise members of the public to return to your table once the event offically opens at 5:00 p.m.
Exhibiters will be served food between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. before the event officially opens, in order that you may be given a chance to eat before the public starts visiting your display.
National Night Out is offered as a means to "get the word out" to the public about the services that your club or orgaization provides to the community. As such, no sales are allowed. Everything at National Night Out is free. You may solicite for membership or volunteers for your organization, club or group.
If you will be conducting prize drawings during the course of the event, there will be a PA system available at the event for your use to announce your drawings. You will be responsible for conducting your own prize drawings. In an effort to maintain a captive audience, we request that all drawings be conducted with the provision that winners "must be present to win."
There is a very limited power supply in the City Park. In order for us to adequately provide for your needs, please contact us as soon as possible to make arrangments for power should your display require it.
If you pack it in, please pack it out. Police your area before you leave, making sure that any trash is picked up. There are dumpsters located throughout the City Park to facilitate proper trash disposal.
There is an underground sprinkler system in the City Park. As such, no vehicles are allowed on the grass. Additionally, if you are utilizing an awning, gazebo or "pop-up" covering as part of your display, please do not drive anchor stakes into the ground so as not to damage the sprinkler system.
The City Park is posted as a "no smoking zone". Also, no dogs are allowed in the City Park.
