             6:00 p.m. Presentation

Did you know kids who drink before age 15 are 5 times more likely to have alcohol problems when they are adults?

To learn more, go to www.starttalkingnow.org

Why should we care about underage drinking?

Alcohol kills more youth than tobacco and illicit drugs combined.
In Dayton, 15% of 8th graders and 32% of 10th graders reported using alcohol in the past 30 days (source:  Healthy Youth Survey, 2006).
55% of 10th graders said it would be "every easy" to "sort of easy" to get beer, wine or hard liquor (source:  Healthy Youth Survey, 2006).

What can I do?

Come to a community meeting to learn about all the ways underage drinking harms our young people and community.

Who should come to the community meeting?

Parents, youth, educators, health providers, law enforcement and business owners.
Anyone who wants to prevent underage drinking.
