![]() E911 Public Education in Columbia County was launched January 2, 2007. The program is being spearheaded by Senior Communications Officer Tim Quigg. A 26-year veteran of law enforcement, Quigg started working for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office in 1981, and has held many positions within the agency including reserve deputy, firearms instructor, armorer, search and rescue coordinator, assistant civil clerk, and now E911 Public Education Officer. As the title implies, as the E911 Public Education Officer, Quigg's task is to educate the public about the proper use of the E911 system, providing the public with training and information about this vital emergency service.
Quigg was recognized for his work in E911 Public Education, when in 2006, Washington State E911 adopted for state-wide distribution a public education program he developed. More recently, working in conjunction with Columbia County Public Health and Columbia County Fire District 3, Quigg helped to launch the nationally-recognized "File of Life" program in Dayton and Columbia County, with emphasis on the community's senior citizen population. Quigg is also the coordinator for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy. In an effort to better inform the public at large, Quigg also assisted in the creation, launch and maintenance of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office website you see here, acting as its webmaster.
Additional local education program include displays at the Columbia County Fair, an emergency key program to assist emergency response personnel, the ICE Campaign and communication center tours.
Quigg is available for free public presentations to civic groups, clubs and organizations. You can contact him through our links page for more information.
