The Sheriff of Columbia County is tasked with serving and executing the civil processes of the court. As a valued member of Sheriff Hessler's staff, Civil Deputy Carole Sleeman carries out these duties in his behalf. With the assistance of her Assistant Civil Clerk Tim Quigg, Sleeman processes an average of 450 court documents for service each year. Sleeman also has been charged with oversite of the entry of arrest warrants and restraining orders into the state and national computer data bases, local sex offender registration and issuance of concealed pistol licenses. Sleeman is also in charge of payroll and accounts payable. Sleeman is the direct supervisor of the Columbia County E911 Communications Center, and is instrumental in insuring policies and procedures are being followed. She maintains training records for all communications officers, and insures that they are current with all required credentials including basic first aid, CPR, emergency medical dispatch and state computer certifications.
